Pages and documents
Living documents
Turn a session into minutes, a proposal or a plan whose decisions and action items stay current, and review the updates its sessions suggest.
A living document is written from a session and stays tied to it. Its decisions and action items are live: when an owner checks an item off or a date moves, the document shows it. When the session, or a follow-up to it, records something new, the document suggests the change and you decide whether to take it.
Write from a session
- On a board, choose Pages, then Write from this session. Or choose Write from a session on the workspace page and pick the session.
- Choose what to write. Keep it private until it is ready to share if you like.
- Choose Write it. The document opens with the session's summary, decisions, action items, risks and next steps in place, ready to edit.
- Meeting minutes: what was decided, who does what, open questions and the next meeting.
- Project proposal: the problem, the proposal, what it needs and the risks.
- Requirements: goals, requirements and what is out of scope.
- Decision log: every decision with its reasons, on a page that grows with each session.
- Project plan: milestones, owners and dates.
- Progress report: what got done, what is late or blocked, and what comes next.
When AI is available on your site, it writes the prose around the live blocks. Read it through before you share it. Otherwise the document is put together from the outcomes and the board.
Live blocks
Decisions, action items and session cards in a document are live blocks with a light border. They show the current text, owner, due date and check-in, and editors can check action items off right in the document. A session card shows the session's summary, how many items are open and done, and opens its board.
To add one by hand, type / and choose Decision or action item, Action items from a session, or Session card, then pick the session and the item. An action items list fills itself as the session records more.
If an item is deleted or you lose access to its session, the block keeps the text it last showed and says it is no longer available to you.
Suggested updates
When a linked session is finalized, a follow-up is held or an action item changes, Round Table compares the document with what was recorded and suggests changes: a new decision to add, an item that moved, a status that is out of date. Choose Check for updates in Suggestions to ask now.
- Choose Suggestions at the top of the document. The number shows how many are waiting.
- Each suggestion says what would change, why, and which session it came from. Hover over it, or tap it on a phone, to see where it would go in the document.
- Choose Accept to apply it or Reject to drop it, or Accept all and Reject all when there are several.
Nothing in the document changes until someone accepts. If that part of the document was edited since, the suggestion no longer fits and is set aside rather than overwriting the edit.
From the session's side
A session's Outcomes list the documents written up from it under Written up in, so anyone reviewing a decision can find the minutes or the plan it went into.
